Colombian Places
Visit to the 15th century La Rabida Monastery, the place where Christopher Columbus spent more than 7 years preparing the Great Voyage, where we will visit all its corners and most interesting places, including its church, refectory, Mudejar cloister, Chapter House, Sala de las Banderas... to visit it is to travel through history itself.
Afterwards, we will visit the Muelle de las Carabelas, where we will embark on replicas of Columbus' ships, cross the Isla del Encuentro, and get to know the recreated atmosphere of a 14th century port. In the same Muelle de las Carabelas we can enjoy the museum area where you can find replicas of documents and utensils of the time.
The visit can be completed with a panoramic tour of Palos de la Frontera including a stop to see the exterior of the Church of San Jorge and Fontanilla, the place where the ships were supplied with water for their journey.
Finally, we will visit the Monument to the Discovering Faith, popularly known as Columbus, which is 37 meters high and is located at the confluence of the Tinto and Odiel rivers, at what is known as Punta del Sebo.
